SENT (Single Edge Nibble Transmission)
The SENT (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) protocol is used in automotive electronics for data transmission between sensors and ECUs (for example wheel-speed or position sensors). It supports efficient, high-precision transfer within limited bandwidth.
Incorrect Clock Tick, Tolerance, # of Nibbles, SENT Version, or Message format relative to the device causes decode failures. For channel-prefix differences, see Settings.
Decode Settings
- Channel: Assign the SENT data signal channel.
- Startup: Timing and format settings used before analysis.
- Clock Tick: Tick time (µs). Default is 3 us.
- Tolerance: Allowed tick tolerance (%). Default is 20%.
- # of Nibbles: Number of data nibbles (1–8). Default is 6.
- Polarity: Idle Low / Idle High. Default is Idle High.
- SENT Version: 2008 / 2010/2016. Default is 2010/2016. When 2008 is selected, Pause/CRC fields are disabled (Disable).
- Pause: OFF / ON (SENT 2010/2016). Default is OFF.
- Message: Fast Channel / Short Channel / Enhanced Serial. Default is Fast Channel.
- CRC: Legacy / Recommended (SENT 2010/2016). Default is Recommended.
