RC-5 (Philips RC-5 Protocol)

RC-5 is an infrared remote-control protocol defined by Philips for low-cost remote control. It defines device types (such as home entertainment systems) for compatibility. The newer RC-6 protocol adds more features, but many products still use RC-5 format.

Wrong encoding (with/without carrier) or Extended mode yields incorrect commands. For channel-prefix differences, see Settings.
