OA3p(PMD) (Open Alliance 3-pin)
OA3p (OPEN Alliance 3-pin) is an important protocol in automotive Ethernet testing that defines PHY test requirements for consistency, reliability, and stability under different operating conditions.
Wrong display mode or Ethernet/MDIO options omit or misread report fields. For channel-prefix differences, see Settings.
Decode Settings
- Channel: Set OA3p channels (TX/RX_MDC/ED_MDO).
- OA3p settings:
- Display Mode: Show TX Data + Config or RX Data + Config in the waveform. Default is TX Data + Config.
- Show Rx Data in NORMAL State: Keep showing RX results in Normal State. Field enabled (Enable) when checked. Default is unchecked.
- Ethernet Settings (10BaseT1S): Configure Ethernet parsing in the report. Related options are field enabled (Enable) when the group is checked.
- Show Sync Code: Field enabled (Enable) when checked. Default is unchecked.
- Show 5B Code: Field enabled (Enable) when checked. Default is unchecked.
- Show MAC Data: Optionally show Transport Layer Data or Transport Layer Data & Header. Default is checked (type commonly Transport Layer Data).
- Show Single BEACON: Related to Hide Beacon; Default is Hide Beacon unchecked.
- FCS in Byte Order: Field enabled (Enable) when checked. Default is unchecked.
- Data Filter: Show only the set number of bytes. Field enabled (Enable) for length when checked. Default is unchecked; length commonly 20 bytes.
- Report Data: Bytes per data field row (8/16/32 Byte). Default is 8 Byte.
- MDIO Settings (Config State):
- Enable Preamble Counter: Set preamble bit count. Field enabled (Enable) when checked. Default is unchecked; count commonly 32.
- Data Edge: Latch on rising or falling edge. Default is Rising.
